The other day the Newsburglar was graced with the presence of John Kennedy. Not that John Kennedy. The one who single-handedly nearly led Blessed Sacrament Blue to a .500 record in 1989.
John, its great to have you around. Fred will be ecstatic. As to your question on the debates.
PBS will host two of the four debates this presidential cycle. NBC’s Tom Brokaw and CBS’ Bob Schieffer will host the remaining two Presidential debates.
Friday, September 26, 2008: Foreign Policy Presidential Debate hosted by Jim Lehrer of PBS
Thursday, October 2, 2008: Vice-Presidential Steel Cage Match hosted by Gwen Ifill of PBS
Tuesday, October 7, 2008: Town-hall Meeting Presidential Debate hosted by Tom Brokaw of NBC
Wednesday, October 15, 2008: Domestic Policy Presidential Debate in hosted by Bob Schieffer of CBS
— Each debate will last for 90 minutes.
— In the first and third presidential debates and the vice presidential debate, the candidates will be seated with the moderator at a table.
— During the first and third presidential debates, and the vice presidential debate, the time will be divided into eight, ten-minute segments. The moderator will introduce each segment with an issue on which each candidate will comment, after which the moderator will facilitate further discussion of the issue, including direct exchange between the candidates for the balance of that segment.
— The participants in the town meeting will pose their questions to the candidates after reviewing their questions with the moderator for the sole purpose of avoiding duplication. The participants will be chosen by the Gallup Organization and will be undecided voters from the Nashville, Tenn. standard metropolitan statistical area. During the town meeting, the moderator has discretion to use questions submitted by Internet.
Other unconfirmed rumors about the debates:
The VP debate will be on a 7 second time delay in order to bleep out any foul language coming out of Biden’s mouth.
The VP debate will have one 10 minute intermission to allow for Palin to change diapers. Either Trig or McCain’s.
Thanks I was wondering when those were. I will probably only watch the VP.
Wasn’t Joe dad’s favorite? just kidding John!
September 26 is a Friday. 🙂 Is the debate Friday the 26th or Saturday the 27th?
Sorry, you’re right, its Friday the 26th.
I appreciate the info BK and especially the warm welcome extended to me for visiting the Newsburglar. However, I am not sure that we even achieved a .500 record back in 1989, but we did manage to pull off a win or two. Looking forward to the debates.
