Last time we crossed out Roslin, Lee Adama, Baltar, Starbuck, Helo and the Admiral.
We can also cross off a guest star in the form of a new character. “I can tell you it’s someone you’ve seen. It won’t be a guest-star.”
That leaves:

Let’s assume for a moment that D’Anna Biers is telling the truth when she says that four of the final five with the fleet, and one is not. This rules out all five of the living Colonials listed above: Gaeta, Dualla, Cottle, Lampkin and Zarek. Combine that with the fact that Helo, Adama, Roslin, Baltar were with D’Anna on the Basestar when she said it (if they were one of the five she would never have let them leave), and our options are dwindling rapidly.
Moreover, there are at least three other factors which narrow down the options as to who the Final Cylon is.
First, in the writer’s minds the final Cylon was identified during the first season. Second, D’Anna’s “You, forgive me, I had no idea” would seem to be directed at the fifth Cylon. Third, we have the last lines of the Hybrid prophecy:
And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering.
The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin. But in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of one splintering into many.
And then, they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning.
Combined, these three items, but especially the first one, make me believe that the final Cylon is not one of the three dead people identified above. That leaves only the virtual people that Baltar and Six have been having conversations with throughout the show.
Is it Head Baltar? or Virtual Six? I don’t think so. While these virtual characters are unique to the show in such a way as to cause the writers to identify them as the final Cylons early in the show’s run, they don’t fit the the other two items. D’Anna would have no reason to apolize to them or to be able to identify them as different from their real selves. They also don’t fit the prophecy.
RDM must be lying to us then. Right? Based upon the clues that we’ve been given we’ve basically ruled out the entire cast and crew. He must be lying.
Or, are we just blind? Who Can it Be Now?
